For years, fans have been pleading with the comedy master Seth Rogen to make his debut in the superhero universe, although he didn’t budge. Time and again, he has revealed why he prefers to stay away from the MCU and DC hype. However, recently, an insider scooper hinted that this is soon going to change. They posted a photo featuring Kevin Feige and Phil Lord on X. Although it looks harmless at first glance, upon closer inspection, one can see a Seth Rogen photobomb in the background. This viral picture might be foretelling something.
Is Seth Rogen Finally Making His MCU Debut?
Steven Weintraub, who is an editor on Collider, first shared a picture of Kevin Feige and Phil Lord at the Critics Choice Awards. Although seeing the MCU bossman and the Spider-Verse producer is exciting on its own, what is even more thrilling is Seth Rogen peeking in behind with a bizarre expression on his face. And MyTimeToShineHello on Twitter claimed,
“This one is gonna be more relevant than you think.”

Although the meaning behind the line shared by the insider scooper on X cannot be known for sure, that doesn’t stop the imagination from running amok. Only time will reveal what this picture really meant.
Why Doesn’t Seth Rogen Want to Join the Superhero Battalion?
The actor has time and again stated his disinterest in joining either of the universes, be it MCU or DC. That doesn’t stem from any personal vendetta but rather his general disinterest in the superhero saga as a whole. During an interview with Polygon in the mid 2023, the actor revealed,
“Honestly, probably fear,–We really have a pretty specific way we work; me and Evan [Goldberg] have been writers for 20 years at this point. It’s a fear of the process, honestly. And I say that knowing nothing about the process. There are a lot of Marvel things I love. It’s mostly a fear of how would we plug into the system they have in place, which seems like a very good system, and a system that serves them very well,”
He further doubled down in the Total Film Magazine interview by saying,
“I think that Kevin Feige is a brilliant guy, and I think a lot of the filmmakers he’s hired to make these movies are great filmmakers,–But as someone who doesn’t have children… It is [all] kind of geared toward kids, you know? There are times where I will forget. I’ll watch one of these things, as an adult with no kids, and be like, ‘Oh, this is just not for me.’”
The closest he has come to a superhero saga is being the executive producer on the Amazon Prime series The Boys. And from his comments, it seems that he would most likely love to keep it that way. Although the actor has indicated he loves certain elements about the MCU, fans are hoping it’s enough to make him change his mind. At the end of the day, he simply put that those kinds of films are just not for him.
