WWE Monday Night Raw kicked off this week by addressing The Rock’s challenge from SmackDown. Cody Rhodes and Seth Rollins focused on taking down The People’s Champion, which also came with a big announcement.
Rollins hurt his knee in a match against Jinder Mahal on the Jan. 15 episode of WWE Raw. He was in pain after a move landed awkwardly.
Still, Rollins managed to finish the match and retain his championship by pinning Mahal. However, due to his injury, the 37-year-old had to skip some live events.
Now, he has received full medical clearance. He confirmed his appearance on SmackDown this week to confront the Bloodline, stating he’s prepared and ready for action.
Despite facing an injury, Rollins is determined to confront Johnson and his cousin alongside Cody Rhodes, showing his refusal to take the easier path.
Seth Rollins Vows to Defeat The Rock and His Kin Alongside Cody Rhodes
This week, Cody Rhodes kicked off WWE Raw and after some words for the fans, he called out Seth Rollins to join him. Fans enthusiastically sang Rollins’ entrance song as he joined Rhodes in the ring.
The American Nightmare thanked The Aerialist for his support previously. Then, he made an intriguing offer. He said if Rollins wanted to skip the match against the Bloodline and focus on his upcoming match with Drew McIntyre, he could do so.
Rollins appreciated Rhodes’ offer to take an easy exit, but he turned it down. He stressed that beating the Bloodline is their main goal. He added that it’s not just about wrapping up the American Dream’s son’s story, but also about completing his own journey.
Rollins and Roman Reigns have a history together. From their time in The Shield, they formed quite a bond, but their paths eventually diverged. Now, they find themselves on opposing sides in WWE storylines. With The Rock joining forces with Reigns in the Bloodline, they are on the brink of wielding “absolute power” in the WWE.
Despite the “Rocky Sucks” chants from the crowd, Rollins made it clear he wasn’t backing down. He even coined a new nickname for The Rock: “Diarrhea Dwayne,” poking fun at the Hollywood star’s lengthy promos.
The Rock Issued WrestleMania Tag Team Challenge Against Cody Rhodes and Seth Rollins Last Week
Last Friday, The Rock challenged Cody Rhodes on WWE SmackDown. He focused on Rhodes and the World Heavyweight Champion, Seth Rollins to a tag team match at WrestleMania alongside Roman Reigns.
The Rock’s challenge came after Rhodes asked for a one-on-one match with him, to which he declined by saying “No.”
In his lengthy speech, Johnson declared his intention to face Rhodes at WrestleMania, but he wouldn’t do it alone. He stated that he preferred teaming up with his cousin for a tag team match against Rhodes and Rollins at the big event.

The Black Adam actor said that if Rhodes and Rollins win, the Bloodline can’t interfere in Roman Reigns vs. Cody Rhodes at WrestleMania. But if The Rock and Reigns win, the Bloodline can mess with the match however they want.
WrestleMania 40 is scheduled for April 6-7, 2024, at Lincoln Financial Field.
