Shadow of the Erdtree is finally here, and the gaming community wasted no time diving right in and exploring the Land of Shadows, unearthing every secret, and exploring every crevice of what it has to offer. Players who have made good progress are bound to face one boss with an added challenge.

FromSoftware spent a good amount of time working on this massive expansion and giving the players a worthy follow-up to the base game. Despite the great efforts of the developers, the expansion was plagued with unforeseeable issues that could be a headache for players.

FromSoftware cracked the code of making the perfect Soulslike game but some players are pushing themselves harder and farther than the developers intended. One player decided to skip Shadow of the Erdtree and go back to the classics and replayed Dark Souls 2 without walking which was an insane challenge but not entirely impossible.

The difficult nature of the genre made it prone to bugs and other issues that the developers could not anticipate. One streamer caught the worst of it when it cloned a boss, which made the endeavor twice as hard.

Fighting one powerful enemy is hard enough but the game multiplied it by two, which is indicative of the great skill required to beat it. Perhaps the developers should think about checking on the systems and seeing if everything is working up to code to avoid ruining the experience of the gaming community.

Director Hidetaka Miyazaki did mention that this expansion will be on par or will have an equal footing to the base game but there is a low likelihood that the developers intended players to fight a boss and its clone at the same time. This bug could dissuade the players from pressing forward until the developers have it patched.

The developers did not hold back with the marketing for this expansion and gave the gaming community a glimpse of it earlier. Some fans who made promises to avoid looking at any promotional content failed spectacularly after FromSoftware shared gameplay footage and it was worth it.

The Soulslike genre is not for the faint of heart and players are required to pack both patience and skill to make some good progress. This glitch will require more than patience and skill, and the developers should look into it before the situation gets out of hand.

The expansion just released and there is no telling what other bugs or glitches are looming around it. Game development is complicated and not everything will pan out the way the developers envisioned and understood it. Hopefully, FromSoftware will have this sorted as fast as possible.

Elden Ring players waited for this expansion as soon as they wrapped up the base game and it is unfortunate to see it the way it is. If history has taught the players anything, it is to have faith in FromSoftware.
