Simu Liu’s Shang-Chi changed the direction of the Marvel Cinematic Universe when it first premiered in 2021. With a dynamic new hero discovering his hidden powers and his father in the antagonistic role, Shang-Chi was unknown to the world.
With quite an earning at the box office, a sequel was soon confirmed by Hollywood heartthrob Simu Liu. With such an iconic hero, an equally opposing villain should be in the movie too. Well, here are 5 amazing villains that can battle Simu Liu’s Shang-Chi in the upcoming sequel.
1) Si-Fan Cyber-Ninjas
Appearing in an X-Men issue of Marvel Comics, the Si-Fan Cyber-Ninjas are cyborgs with robotic parts with a human body that allows them to have enhanced speed and power. Depicted as a terrorist organization, the group (comprising four members) appeared in the X-Men comics in which Shang-Chi was a guest star.
Being a terrorist organization for hire, the Si-Fan Cyber-Ninjas could easily make their way into the sequel of the movie to wreak havoc on Shang-Chi’s life.
2) Bengal
With a dark past of seeing his parents murdered during the Vietnam War, Bengal becomes an all-powerful anti-hero often found standing on the wrong side. In the comics, the character has fought Natasha Romanoff aka Black Widow.
Being the Master of Kung-Fu, Simu Liu‘s Shang-Chi has also crossed hands with Bengal as the two have fought quite significantly in the comics. With a tragedy to his name, Bengal could be the next opponent from which Shang-Chi must recover and train hard to join the upcoming Avengers!
3) Ghost Maker
Ghost Maker first debuted in the Marvel Comic Master of Kung-Fu #110 as a direct adversary to Shang-Chi. The duo of fighters even engaged in a hand-to-hand combat but Ghost Maker realized that he had to escape from the scene.
Making a quick exit Ghost Maker died but was resurrected by the Snakeroot Cult in Daredevil Annual #10. Having fought Shang-Chi once, the character could make a re-entry into the martial artist’s life.
4) Moving Shadow
Moving Shadow is the younger half-brother of Shang-Chi in Marvel Comics. Having trained under his father, the character is motivated purely by revenge. When Simu Liu’s Shang-Chi kills his father, Zheng Zu is heartbroken.
With a burning desire for revenge, Moving Shadow is on a mission to kill Shang-Chi to avenge his father. Since the first film featured Shang-Chi killing his father, the sequel could easily introduce his half-brother on a hunt.
5) Razor Fist
Razor Fist has already been introduced to the world in 2021’s Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings. Portrayed by Florian Munteanu in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, the villain is not yet dead in the movie.
With the sequel in the works, Razor Fist, who has a retractable blade on his arm could potentially return to the upcoming movie to take vengeance against Shang-Chi. Destin Daniel Cretton is all set to direct Shang-Chi 2 in the future with an unconfirmed release date.
