2019’s Shazam was a blast. It signaled DCEU’s change of pace in direction for a newer and younger audience. Carrying the tradition forward, Shazam 2 will also feature the same cast and a brand new story line. It will have more magic, more mayhem, more childlike humor, and more of Captain Sparklefingers. DC FanDome had a Shazam! Panel and they made sure the audiences worldwide remembered them. While having nothing much to show to the viewers, one substantial development for the Shazam Sequel is that the movie has an official title. It was revealed during a panel at the DC FanDome event.
Shazam 2 is still in pre-production. A movie in such an early development phase rarely has anything worthwhile to show to the fans. The Shazam Panel only had the panel members talk a lot about how they were working towards making Shazam 2 a reality and all the challenges and obstacles they had to face while coming up with the first movie itself. But at the end of the panel, the panel members that also included several core cast members, revealed the official title for the movie.

The official title for Shazam 2 is Shazam! Fury of the Gods.
The Title may have revealed more than it should. From What We Know so far, the final battle at the end of Shazam! clearly set up enough room for a good story line for a sequel. The Shazam panel saw actor and comedia Sinbad join the FanDome team as a surprise addition to the cast. Sinbad had been the butt of many jokes for having starred in a show called “Shazaam”, a 1990’s sitcom where he played the role of a genie. His show has also been confused with the 1996 movie titled Kazaam starring Shaquile O’Neal as a genie.
“I’m going to work right now to rectify the situation once and for all with a big, prominent role in Shazam! 2,”
Shazam! Fury of the Gods might be Shazam coming to trade fists with the Old Gods. Sinbad never revealed which villain he might be playing in the series. But if you ask us, there are a few villains that he could portray. And all of them could justify the title.

Maybe the title means that Shazam is fighting the Gods of the Old order that have come to Earth to do their bidding. Shazam, who is him-self powered by the gifts of six Gods of Older Pantheons – Solomon, Hercules, Mercury, Zeus, Atlas, and Achilles, will have a strong connection to the Fury of the Gods title. There is something we are missing here. Time will give us all the answers.
The meta-casting of Sinbad as one of the cast members for Shazam! Fury of the Gods may have been too cryptic for our tastes. There is more to Shazam 2’s story than what meets the eye.
