Four-time Grammy winner Melissa Viviane Jefferson, also known as Lizzo has been under fire since August 1. NBC broke the news about the lawsuit filed against her by her dance crew members citing unfavorable work conditions and workplace harassment.

Noelle Rodriguez, Crystal Williams, and Arianna Davis have brought the charges against her alleging that Lizzo is a toxic person who has done a lot of damage to her staff’s reputation.

In a new development, Sophia Nahli Allison came forward on August 2 and corroborated the plaintiffs’ side of the story and called her out through her official Instagram and Twitter handles saying Lizzo is highly arrogant.

Allison’s short story – A Love Song For Latasha got an Oscar nod in 2019. The documentary depicted the untimely demise of Latasha Harlins, 15, who was shot dead in ‘92.

Sophia Nahli Allison Was Hugely Disrespected By Lizzo In 2019

According to her social media posts, Sophia Nahli Allison was initially roped in by Lizzo to direct her documentary – Love, Lizzo but the latter exited the project shortly after.

Allison wrote that Lizzo is an authoritative woman who uses her star power to undermine the artists collaborating with her.

“I was treated with such disrespect by her. I witnessed how arrogant and unkind she is. I was not protected and was thrown into a sh**ty situation with little support,” her post said.

The 36-year-old director noted that Lizzo had a habit of creating a dangerous environment at the workplace and often witnessed her intimidating fellow women of color.

Sophia Nahli Allison Felt Grateful She Had Faith In Herself

Doug Pray (Surfwise) ended up directing Lizzo’s Love, Lizzo which was released on November 24, last year.

Sophia Nahli Allison, however, is not surprised that a “cis white man” eventually helmed her documentary and called out Lizzo’s career as a facade.

“She is a narcissistic bully and has built her brand off of lies. I was excited to support and protect a Black woman through the documentary process but quickly learned her image and ‘message’ was a curated facade.”

She also added, 

“I’m grateful I trusted my gut. I felt gaslit and deeply hurt, but I’ve healed.”
