Appearing in a W Magazine interview with his Barbie co-star Margot Robbie, Ryan Gosling and Robbie revealed a lot of never-before-known facts about their personal lives and their mass hit Barbie. When W Magazine’s Lynn Hirschberg asked the actor about his first cinematic crush, the actor revealed Raquel Welch’s name.

“I saw Raquel Welch on The Muppet Show when I was young she was dressed like a cave woman she was dancing with a big puppet spider and I liked it. I liked it more than anything I’d ever liked before I always feel like I overshare when I’m when I’m [with Lynn],” Gosling said.

Welch was a legendary Hollywood star who appeared in several movies and television shows in her career spanning over 50 years after her breakthrough in 1966 with roles in One Million Years B.C. and Fantastic Voyage. Sadly, after struggling with Alzheimer’s disease, the actor died of cardiac arrest last year in February.

Among many details of his life, Gosling could not help but recall the movie that brought tears to his eyes. While almost everyone who watched Gosling’s film The Notebook tends to make everyone cry, for Gosling David Lynch’s 1980 thriller The Elephant Man was emotional at best. Actually, Gosling was surprised that people would cry over The Notebook, “Really not Elephant Man?” he asked Hirschberg.

“Elephant Man would be mine is it really that it’s too sad though. One time I saw it in the theater and halfway through when Elephant Man got these brushes and he was going to give them back and this lady screamed the guy behind me went, ‘Get her Elephant Man’ and I realized that he thought he was like Wolf Man or something it was like he’s been enduring the saddest thing he’s just like ‘get her Elephant Man.’”

Further, in a shocking revelation, the actor also opened up about a skill, “I make a hell of a pie.” Adding, “I go raspberry.” However, the 43-year-old refused to reveal his first kiss. Gosling will appear in David Leitch’s action thriller The Fall Guy, scheduled to hit the theaters on 3 May 2024.
