Nicole Kidman was so shattered after her 11-year marriage with Tom Cruise ended. That’s when Keith Urban entered her life.
Kidman and Cruise first crossed paths on the set of Days of Thunder in 1990. Their whirlwind romance led to marriage within six months.
Before the divorce, Kidman experienced her first heartbreak with an ectopic pregnancy. Life hit her hard with a second miscarriage in 2001, around the time the Mission Impossible star iled for divorce.
After the separation, the Hollywood beauty thought she would spend the rest of her life alone. But the Oscar winner eventually found solace when she crossed paths with Urban.
Keith Urban Helped Nicole Kidman Believe in Love Again After Her Heartbreaking Divorce
Meeting Keith Urban brought a positive shift in Nicole Kidman‘s life. A source told Closer, “Nicole believes Keith essentially saved her from a life of loneliness.”
“By the time she got out of that relationship, she was miserable. Keith gave her a reason to believe in love again,” the insider shared.
The actress shared insights about her divorce from Cruise in Dave Karger’s book, 50 Oscar Nights, in which she reflected on her 2003 Academy Award win for The Hours.
The award win holds mixed feelings for Kidman, as it happened while she was still getting over the divorce from Cruise in 2001 after their 1990 marriage. She said, “I was struggling with things in my personal life, yet my professional life was going so well.”
Kidman shared that she felt overwhelmed at the Vanity Fair party and left early due to the emotional weight of the situation. “I sat on the floor of the hotel eating French fries and a burger with my family and went to bed,” she continued. “That’s when it hit me. I went, I need to find my love; I need a love in my life.” And that’s when Urban came into her life.
