Michael Shannon Avoided Scenes With Amy Adams in Nocturnal Animals

He added that he chose to make their performances distinct since he didn’t believe their characters would have interacted in the real world.

“I wouldn’t have wanted to play anybody else really in the script. That character was the one for me. But I don’t have a coach so maybe we shouldn’t do scenes together. She’d probably play me off the court”

In the neo-noir thriller plot of the movie, Shannon’s character, Detective Bobby Andes, looks into the deaths of Tony Hastings’, portrayed by Jake Gyllenhaal, wife and daughter. Adams’ character, Susan Morrow, is an art gallery owner who is haunted by the past and the choices she has made.
