Although the actress playing the role of Carol Danvers happens to have been a part of the Avengers, it seems that Marvel might be looking forward to recasting Larson.
Following Brie Larson’s 2023 box office catastrophe The Marvels, it only seems fit for Marvel Studios to look for a replacement, in case that works. More than anything if Marvel plans for an MCU reboot following 2027’s Avengers: Secret Wars, then it is inevitable that Larson will be replaced by another actress. In case things don’t work out for Brie Larson and Marvel Studios plans to replace her, we believe Charlize Theron could be the ultimate actress to take on the Captain Marvel mantle. Not only does she have the perfect appearance to play the role, but the Oscar-winning actress had previously stolen the audiences with her incredible talent in action movies.
Be it Mad Max: Fury Road or Atomic Blonde, Charlize Theron‘s action skills alone would be enough to pique the interest of even the most casual moviegoer.
2. Katheryn Winnick
Our next best choice for the role is Katheryn Winnick, who previously made rounds around the character when Kevin Feige announced their plans to make a Captain Marvel film. Given her powerful performance and ruthless action sequences in the Vikings TV series, Winnick would easily take on the role of Carol Danvers.
Not only does she have the talent of delivering flawless action scenes, but Katheryn Winnick also portrays her talent of standing up to the big boys. Thus, we believe she would make an excellent choice for Marvel’s major female superhero.

Even before Brie Larson got her name tied to Marvel, Blunt made her rounds, as she was eyed for the role of Black Widow and Peggy Carter. Given that she’s an incredible actress, who has proven her skills in all attempted genres, Blunt could be an easy casting for the role of Carol Danvers.
