What started as just another ambitious neo-western project to revive the old Wild West into the modern age has now become one of the biggest TV series in the world. With Taylor Sheridan making Yellowstone back in 2018, the impact it had on the industry was quite unprecedented and unforeseen by anyone.
Today, the main franchise has branched away into many spin-off stories that mainly focus on the tales of the Dutton Dynasty from the past. And now, since the main timeline of the franchise is about to come to an end, the creator has proposed for yet another prequel series, titled 1944. This time, the show is aiming to assemble a star cast, which might see the introduction of Matthew McConaughey and Michelle Pfeiffer in the future.

Since the Western genre of entertainment has long been almost forgotten by the mainstream media in modern times, Yellowstone only had a moderate level of expectations regarding success, Five seasons and two successful spin-offs later, we can say for certain that series creator Taylor Sheridan is a visionary that created an all-new neo-western genre of entertainment that the world loves today.
And now, with the second part of the fifth season on its way to becoming the last in the main timeline of the franchise, Sheridan has announced another prequel spin-off series, titled 1944, which will begin production soon. As for who we can expect in the series, it’s being rumored that Academy Award-winning actor Matthew McConaughey might be the lead star in the upcoming series.
But now, new reports have suggested that Michelle Pfeiffer, the three-time Oscar-nominated actress, is also being eyed for a major role in the proposed show.

It’s also being reported that more than the Interstellar star, Pfeiffer is closer to sealing this deal with Paramount.
At this point, it can’t be called out for certain which role these stars are being roped in the production to play, but seeing their illustrious careers, their contributions to this series may prove to do wonders for it in the future.

While neither of the two prequels in the franchise, titled 1883 and 1923, have once disappointed the viewers, fans were a little skeptical of just how far Sheridan could push his luck with so many spin-offs, which included the upcoming series.
