Starfield was hyped up to be the next big thing by Bethesda. Not to mention that it was the studio’s first new IP in 25 years. But it ultimately released a lukewarm response and couldn’t become the sensation it was supposed to.
However, the Elder Scrolls V has aged incredibly well, thanks to the modding community. One such mod was the Immersive First Person View for the latter. On the former’s official subreddit, a player expressed that he would want the mod to make its way to Starfield, and fans are all for it.
Fans Want Skyrim’s Immersive First-Person View Mod for Starfield

Starfield is a title that couldn’t make its mark and was ultimately received as another mediocre title in 2023. The game’s empty world, poor optimization, dated visuals, and poor writing made for an underwhelming experience.
The two titles mentioned above can be played with either perspective and at any given time during the playthrough, the player can switch between the two perspectives. Recently, a player on Starfield‘s official subreddit posted that they would like to see improvements in the game’s first-person perspective mode.
The post was an incredible hit and got over 700 upvotes. Many comments could be found, such as players discussing the feasibility of such a camera mod for the game. It was not impossible since other Bethesda titles already have mods similar to this for this utility.
The Immersive Cam Could Resurrect Starfield, and Players Want Bethesda to Add It Officially

Starfield has a significant expansion and is rumored to get a trailer at the 2024 Xbox Summer Showcase. Perhaps Bethesda should be taking notes and adding the immersive First-person camera to the game with the update.
In the post’s comments, players said they disliked the game cutting to third-person to avoid distorted visuals in any other scenario. And that is precisely where the utility of this mod comes in; it will give players more control and allow them to stay in the first-person mode without any interruptions:
While a lot of fans were just blatantly demanding for the studio to implement this or something similar to enhance immersion in the game, one Redditor dissected why adding it is much more tricky than it sounds:
It is worth noting that, unlike many RPGs, Bethesda lets players switch between first- and third-person views on the fly, which isn’t the norm in AAA games, as it requires much extra work. That is probably one of the reasons why the studio thought it fit to just cut to the third person during some scenarios.
But what do you think? Do you think the mod is feasible and will improve your experience in the game? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
