Although the series is just getting into the anime world, it has already been completed in the manhwa edition and even a sequel series has also been going on called: Solo Leveling: Ragnarok. The incidents of the Solo Leveling sequel occur five years after the events of the original series.

However, Solo Leveling: Ragnarok might have to face the curse of Boruto. The series faces the danger of making the same mistake as Naruto’s sequel did. Though the story of the two series is entirely different, they might suffer a similar fate of leaving the major characters behind.

The Mistake Naruto’s Sequel Made Which Resulted in Its Downfall

Boruto is widely regarded as one of the most unpopular anime sequels ever. Many fans feel that the legacy that Naruto established during its run of television is not upheld by the Boruto anime. Boruto is the sequel to Masashi Kishimoto’s Naruto, the fourth best-selling manga series of all time.

The manga, which was written and drawn by Kishimoto’s former assistant Mikio Ikemoto, follows the tale of Naruto’s son Boruto, who succeeded in achieving his dream of becoming the Seventh Hokage. The father-son relationship was examined in Boruto, with the boy playing the primary role. By doing this, Boruto managed to weaken several important Naruto characters, including Rock Lee and even Naruto.

This led to the destruction of many major elements that the Naruto anime and manga series established. There were many characters from the prequel series that could have played important roles in Boruto, but they were removed from the central story. This in a way led Naruto fans to feel disappointed in Boruto, thus resulting in the downfall of the series.

Solo Leveling: Ragnarok Might Make The Same Mistake As Boruto

Solo Leveling: Ragnarok recounts the adventures of Sung Suho, the son of Sung Jinwoo and Cha Hae-In. He begins to gain his powers early in life and is consequently schooled by his father to control them. Solo Leveling: Ragnarök is comparable to its predecessor, yet has distinct components. Both series’ heroes are where they diverge from one another.

However, the sequel series also risks the danger of suffering the same fate as Boruto. By focusing too much on Sung Suho, they might neglect the character of Sung Jinwoo who set the entire plot of the story from the beginning. Not only that, he even teaches Sung Suho who controls the power of the system.

The only plus point that Solo Leveling: Ragnarok has is the story is a little bit more fast-paced and filler-free than Boruto, thus giving it a chance to save the story and also keeping the legacy of Sung Jinwoo intact.
