Rise of the Ronin is the latest Team Ninja project and their first open-world game. Being a Team Ninja game, it will be messy, chaotic, and time-consuming. The developers had the initiative to integrate convenient game mechanics that will lighten the load on a player’s shoulders.
Players will take on the role of a ronin as they fight for their beliefs and nation and meet new allies, enemies, and many more characters. From the previews alone, the game will heavily rely on a player’s skill and timing as they explore the world and take matters into their own hands.
Team Ninja Has Integrated Time-Saving Features In Rise Of The Ronin
Team Ninja went above and beyond by giving fans options to select the level of difficulty that is best suited for them that will allow players to enjoy the game without the pressure of being constantly defeated, but didn’t stop there with the integration of fast travel, automated loot disposal and many more.
Rise of the Ronin has many time-saving features:
✅ automated loot disposal
✅ auto get on your horse
✅ self-guided horse
✅ endless stamina outside of combat
✅ lots of fast travel
✅ never watch a cutscene twice

These features can save players a few precious moments, especially with the tedious loot management system that players have complained about for years. Fast travel has been implemented in several other large open-world games as well but there are rare instances where the AI of the companion animal can get in the way but in Rise of the Ronin, players can automatically mount them without any prompts or input.
PlayStation’s take on the Soulslike genre will grant players a variety of weapons as well as firearms that will allow them to stand apart from other games with a similar vibe and atmosphere like Ghost of Tsushima.
Convenience Is Another Selling Factor For Rise Of The Ronin
Players can only do so much in a short window of time to unwind and play a game, especially those who have jobs with long hours. These people need to feel a sense of accomplishment even with a quick gaming session. Rise of the Ronin is inspired by previous soulslike games like Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice and Elden Ring which means it will be challenging regardless of difficulty. These features could help players save time and get more done within each gaming session.
The game will also feature several traversal mechanics that can also be an advantage for combat like the addition of a glider which grants players the ability to fly. Most games have a stamina bar that can be gauged for a player’s ability to run, evade, or block but in Rise of the Ronin, it only depletes when locked in a combat scenario which adds a more immersive and realistic feel.
Team Ninja didn’t need to add these features but felt the need to, the markings of a great developer are when they put the needs of their consumers first and find more ways to make their experience even better. Other studios should take notes like how Team Ninja was inspired by Elden Ring and Ghost of Tsushima while working on Rise of the Ronin.
