In the same vein, several popular Western movies are series are also receiving anime adaptations, like Suicide Squad Isekai. Thus, fans have suggested one legendary series that could go beyond any other adaptation: Breaking Bad.
This popular franchise has gone against all expectations to win two Emmy Awards along with critical acclaim. Even after a decade of its end, it still enjoys extremely high ratings and views. So why not test the market with an anime version of Breaking Bad?
The Anime Market is Ripe for Breaking Bad to Conquer
Breaking Bad has undoubtedly reached a massive following worldwide, and every fan wants it to spread even more. (Cue a montage of you suggesting it to your friends and family). If Breaking Bad needs to conquer more audiences, then the best medium for it would be anime. It would ensure that a whole squad of otakus would be invested in the series.
So far, anime like Suicide Squad Isekai, Highlander: The Search for Evidence, Supernatural: The Animation, and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Legend of Supermutant have been adapted from popular Western franchises. While some have performed extremely well, others have not reached a wider audience, and this could be due to various parameters like animation quality, music, directorial skill, the popularity of the original franchise, etc.
But one thing is for sure, the anime industry is thriving more than ever now. Several studios like MAPPA, Toei, Bones, and KyoAni have emerged with their superior animation quality as well as overall production procedure. If there was any time when an anime adaptation of a series would be well-received, it is now. Given the fact that anime is just as popular overseas as it is in Japan, it can be the perfect medium to boost Breaking Bad.
Should Breaking Bad Receive an Anime Adaptation?
