The announcement was made through Twitter, where Vincke addressed all the fans for their constant love and support in a video. However, the video sparked speculations as well because the CEO sent us some intriguing messages regarding the next project of the company:

You have no idea how much energy developers like us take from feedback like yours. We are gonna take all that energy and convert it into something new, something shiny, something big. It’s gonna take a little bit of time, but by the time it’s gonna be finished, I think you gonna like it.

The video then went on to showcase the huge appraisal from the fans about this popular MMORPG title. It also featured some of the adorable and emotional stories regarding the game.

As previously mentioned, there are high chances that this upcoming game is not going to be another Baldur’s Gate title. But as per the promising words from the CEO himself, fans can easily root for this fantastic development studio.

In March, Vincke stated that the company is not going to make another Baldur’s Gate title or any expansion of the current game. This realization might have come after they started working on a new Forgotten Realms adventure, although it was never completed.

In a recent interview with PC Gamer, Vincke stated that “you could already play stuff.” That means this game was partially playable.

Vincke then went on to say:

So if something is super successful, obviously everyone’s asking you, ‘When are you going to make the next one?’ And when you, as a developer, come out of this little miserable cave that you’ve been sitting in for many, many hours as you’re finishing your thing, you’re vulnerable.

Amidst this vulnerable state, Vincke stated that people always tend to do the obvious thing, which was really just to make an add-on, or maybe a standalone add-on, or start working on a sequel, because it’s always the easiest route to take.

That’s why Vincke’s company started working on a follow-up, which was later canceled as that title wouldn’t have much appeal for him or the developers.

So, what is lying ahead of the Baldur’s Gate 3 fans? Let us know your thoughts in the comment section.
