Sony recently put out an edited version of the director’s lengthy answer, and he later revealed his full, in-depth answer, which had a different point entirely. The interview was removed in the hopes of lessening the negative impact, but it seems like the damage has already been done.

The gaming community’s interest was caught when Druckmann came on for an interview that seemingly teased the studio’s upcoming project. However, it was never the director’s point, to begin with, and came clean by releasing his full statement that is unedited by Sony. To avoid making the situation any worse, the company ultimately decided to remove the interview.

In the modern age, it is easy to twist words or omit certain phrases that would take quotes out of context. It seems like the publisher did not anticipate this as Druckmann went on and cleared his statements that were seemingly fabricated, which is in poor taste.

The publisher conducted an interview themselves, which ultimately backfired. Perhaps it was meant to use this fabricated interview to generate hype for the future but ended up misrepresenting the director in the process.

Many believe that the company caused the developers a major inconvenience, and rather than paint them a good picture, the studio is now the talk of the town for something they had no control over.

The gaming community has been waiting for the past few years for Druckmann’s next project and it may not look like a sequel to an existing and established franchise. It is a breath of fresh air for the studio, and it is a wise move to avoid any more flak from previous controversial titles.

Druckmann seemingly learned his lesson the hard way with The Last of Us Part 2 and refuses to give any solid details regarding his upcoming project until it is near the potential release window.

The studio has put out several remasters and a remake this console generation and it is only a matter of time before The Last of Us Part 2 makes its way to PC.

Druckmann received the short end of the stick once again for speaking about his passion. Sony apologized and rectified the situation by removing the interview.
