He didn’t want a round two of the Spider-Man 3 mess. But now, Sony is more inclined to create a sequel to No Way Home 2 rather than making The Amazing Spider-Man 3 with Andrew Garfield.

The rumor has it that Sony Pictures and Marvel Studios are having a little tiff over the vibe of the next Spider-Man flick. As per reports by DanielRPK (via The Hollywood Handle), both the Marvel boss, Kevin Feige, and the star himself, Tom Holland, seem to fancy a more down-to-earth tale after the multiverse shenanigan of Spider-Man: No Way Home.

But Sony Pictures itself wants to take the opposite approach and aspires to bring back Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield for a more extensive multiverse spectacle. Why Does Sony Prefer the No Way Home Sequel Over Amazing Spider-Man 3?

Spider-Man 3
Sony Pictures reportedly wants to bring back Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield for Spider-Man 4

There is a reason why Sony prefers to bring back Tobey Maguire, Andrew Garfield, and Tom Holland for another collaborative film rather than fulfilling fans’ requests for The Amazing Spider-Man 3.

It seems that Sony is hesitant to produce The Amazing Spider-Man 3 because they don’t anticipate it being financially successful.

They may be concerned about oversaturating the market with two active Spider-Man film franchises and the Venom/Morbius/Kraven universe in the mix.
