It was originally announced in June 2020 and was slated for release in 2022, before being delayed to 2023, and then again for an indefinite amount of time.

The hype around the game dissipated, and it vanished from the online discourse cycle, but now thanks to a recent story leak from renowned leaker DuskGolem, we now know what the story will include if we finally get our hands on this long awaited release.

Supposedly, it will be an action-narrative title. With the little information given out, people have already begun making comparisons to existing games. And yes, Nier Automata was one of them. Sadly that doesn’t mean we will get our hands on it any time soon.

Many wonder why the game has been delayed for so long, but when you look at the facts, it adds up. Pragmata was announced to be only for current-gen consoles before they even released, it’s got a big budget, and it’s a new IP for Capcom.

Ultimately, we won’t know the exact reason unless one of the staff members decides to reveal something. But more importantly, an update or release date will hopefully be revealed during the supposed PlayStation showcase later this month.

The same leaker, Dusk Golem, brought good news to everyone just a week about ago regarding the next Resident Evil to come out. There were murmurs about a possible delay that would happen to the game, but according to Golem, it “can be pushed aside.

They also mention that the game will be revealed very soon and released in 2025, possibly in January if what they heard was true. It’s been in development for a whopping seven years.

If what Jeff Grubb said about the PlayStation showcase happening sometime in May holds, there’s a very high chance that the new Resident Evil will be featured there. For now, we can only keep our fingers crossed.
