While 2023 was not the most commendable year for MCU, with their lone heavy hitter on the big screen being Guardians of the Galaxy Vol.3, it was up to Loki to get the multiverse train running. And even though the Kang storyline’s future appears uncertain following Jonathan Majors’ conviction, Sophia Di Martino weighed her opinion on what her character might be up to after Loki.

Despite being knee-deep into Phase 5, no other MCU release has succeeded in progressing the overarching narrative of the multiverse saga except Loki. And while the possibility of a third season remains uncertain, as the narrative was planned as a two-parter from the get-go, we did get an idea of Sylvie’s whereabouts after the ending of season 2.

Sylvie Will Probably Surprise Everyone According to Sophia Di Martino

Although we might have seen the last of Loki in the MCU, with the second season beautifully wrapping up his arc, Sylvie’s story in the multiverse saga is far from the end. Although nothing is confirmed about her role in the overarching multiverse narrative, Sophia Di Martino assured fans whatever she does, “she’s going to do it with fight”, and will probably surprise everyone. She told 1883 Magazine:

“I would love to see Sylvie do anything, I think whatever she does, she’s going to do it with fight and she would probably surprise everyone by doing something that you don’t expect. I’m very fond of that character…”

In a separate interview with Empire, Sophia Di Martino expressed her want to see Sylvie taking on “giants” in an epic adventure in the foreseeable future.

Sylvie Is Still Apprehensive About Loki Being in Charge of the Timelines

Further weighing her ideas on her character’s possible state after the ending of Loki Season 2, she explained despite Sylvie being pretty touched by Loki’s sacrifice, she is still a little apprehensive about it.  Although she believes things are in a pretty better state with Tom Hiddleston‘s Loki, she is still concerned by the fact that “free will can never be free will” with someone in charge. Sophia Di Martino told Cherry Picks:

“What if Loki sees something on the timeline that he does not like? He’s gonna find it really difficult not to meddle or not to intercept something or change something somehow. And I think she knows him so well because they are versions of the same being, that it’s gonna be difficult to just sit back and do nothing if something goes wrong, right?”

Although all these ideas sound like the perfect way to shape up a third season, considering the showrunners jumped on the bandwagon with only two seasons in mind, fans can only hope for now.
