We’re finally near the finish line WWE 2K24‘s release, and critics have given the game a golden stamp of approval. With a Metascore of 84 on Metacritic, fans are rushing to get their hands on the highly anticipated wrestling game that introduces a bucketload of new features, mechanics, roster additions, and more.
Among the raving reviews, however, there’s a bit of disappointment expressed at the game; particularly, its soundtrack.
Some Fans Want Post Malone Out of WWE 2K24
This year, in late February, it was revealed that renowned American singer, rapper, and songwriter Post Malone would be the executive producer of the game’s soundtrack. Despite the number of awards and recognitions under the artist’s belt, not everyone was happy with the decision.
With the game out for early access to a few, the reviews for his work are in. One player on Reddit disagreed with the singer’s involvement in the soundtrack.
The replies seemed to agree with OP for the most part:
Yeah, they haven’t had a decent soundtrack in 5-6 years now (a handful of songs excluded)
One reply suggested manually changing the soundtrack to use the wrestlers’ theme songs, and one player fully agreed:
It’s the first thing I do every year. They could save so much money it they just stopped putting licensed music that’s not a wrestlers theme in it because those licenses can be expensive.
There was an odd one out that completely disagreed with the others:
strong disagree, best soundtrack we’ve had in years. turnstile alone sold me
Opinions for the game’s soundtrack are divided, but as time goes on, people might eventually warm up to it.
With Post Malone as the executive producer, this was the final soundtrack lineup for the game, which features other prominent artists like 100 gecs, Busta Rhymes, and Grimes.
- Post Malone: Chemical, Laugh It Off
- 100 gecs: Hand Crushed By A Mallet
- Busta Rhymes: Put Your Hands Where My Eyes Can See
- Colter Wall: Motorcycle
- Grimes: Genesis
- Militarie Gun: Do It Faster
- Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs Pigs: Big Rig
- Speed: Not That Nice
- Turnstile: Mystery
- Tyler Childers: House Fire
- Yeat: Bëttr 0ff
The singer didn’t just provide the soundtrack for WWE 2K24; he’s stepping into the ring for the first time and joining the roster, marking his debut in the game’s universe.
