Fans of the WWE games fans waiting for the upcoming 2K24 edition can sound the celebration horns: fan-favorite Ken Shamrock is set to finally return to the franchise after his last appearance in the main game series seven years ago.
Fans no longer have to painstakingly custom-build a character that looks like Shamrock—in WWE 2K24, they can play with the “World’s Most Dangerous Man” and obliterate the competition.

Born February 11, 1964, Shamrock is a retired American professional wrestler and MMA fighter. A UFC Hall of Famer and pioneer, he earned the nickname “The World’s Most Dangerous Man.” He’s known for his UFC Superfight Championship and success in Japan’s Pancrase and co-founded the Lion’s Den camp.
In professional wrestling, he achieved fame in WWF as Intercontinental and World Tag Team Champion. He also competed in TNA, becoming the inaugural NWA World Heavyweight Champion. The legend is also a 2020 Impact Hall of Fame inductee.
His history with the WWE games dates back to the earlier editions, where he was a staple in main series’ roster for three years. Known for his intense and relentless fighting style, Shamrock became a fan favorite in the gaming community, as players relished the opportunity to step into his shoes and lay waste to their opponents.
Shamrock’s character last appeared in the WWE 2K16 roster before taking a long absence, the reason behind it unknown. Speculations ranged from contractual disputes to creative differences. Whatever the cause, the absence of Ken Shamrock from the game roster became a point of discussion among gaming communities and wrestling enthusiasts alike.

Which Wrestlers are Joining the 2K24 Roster?
Aside from Shamrock, multiple other wrestlers were announced to also be joining the roster. This includes Undertaker, The Rock, Triple H, Lita, George “The Animal” Steele, Ricky “The Dragon” Steamboat, and Mankind.
The full extent of the list includes many more reputed wrestlers— “Stone Cold” Steve Austin, John Cena, Hulk Hogan, Rhea Ripley, Ashante “Thee” Adonis, to name a few.
While 2K24 will follow a similar pattern to its predecessors, it’ll be adding a ton of new content. including new match types like Guest Referee, Casket, Gauntlet, and Ambulance matches.
One of the most exciting features is the Universe mode, which lets players create new rivalries and new storylines for the roster. It’s essentially a sandbox mode that has new cutscenes, double-title matches, and more rivalry actions.
