The gaming world is right now anticipating the release of Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2. This third-person hack and slash game is going to release on September 20, 2024, on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and Windows. Due to the same intergalactic setting, this title is going to be a heavy competitor to Helldivers 2.
Right now, the Arrowhead Games space-invading title is ruling the co-op multiplayer arena, and there’s no stopping it. However, Space Marine 2 brings a unique feature that Helldivers 2 fans are missing badly.
Space Marine 2 to Have Customizable Characters and Classes
Helldivers 2 might be the most popular title in the world at the moment. But you can’t customize your characters, weapons, or class. Here’s where Space Marine 2 comes in. Recently, Focus Entertainment announced that the upcoming Warhammer 40,000 title will feature six different classes to choose from, along with customizing the Space Marine and its weapons.

Players will be able to tweak everything from their helms to their greaves. Also, there is a wide array of gauntlets, heraldry decals, pauldrons, and colors to choose from. The fun doesn’t end here. Fans will get the chance to take the customization to a whole new level with the season pass, through which they can unlock more cosmetics.
However, players will also be provided with regular free content, like missions and enemies. As you progress further, you will earn XPs, with which you can upgrade and customize your weapons and unlock new perks for Ultramarines. In the game, players will have the independence to choose between six available character classes, like Combat Shield-wielding Bulwark, Stealthy Sniper, and many more.
Gameplay Modes and Story of Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine 2
Initially, the game was based on co-op settings only, but as per the previous rumors, the game will also feature the beloved PvP mode as well. And that’s exactly what the publishers have announced through a new gameplay trailer during the Warhammer Skulls showcase.
The PvP modes of Space Marine 2 showcase the battle between Space Marines and Chaos Marines in three 6v6 PvP modes: Annihilation, Seize Ground, and Capture & Control. On the other hand, there will be a brand-new co-op mode as well, called Operations.
In the story of the game, players have to fill their shoes as Lieutenant Titus of the Ultramarines to battle against the force of a Tyranid invasion with Thousand Son Chaos Marines. Titus will be accompanied by fellow Space Marines Chairon and Gadriel throughout the campaign to give a tough fight to the Tyranids.
