It took almost 6 months to write and rewrite the first two episodes, said Hwang in an interview. He also confessed that he used to drink half a bottle of soju to get his creative mind to write such a script. Continuing his words he also added that writing Squid Game was way harder than writing any other film.
Hwang added to his statement that he isn’t ready to write the second season of the show so early. The director of the show also isn’t prepared to start working on the new season. He thinks it will be too early to release a Season 2 right now.
