Baldur’s Gate 3 developer, Larian, has published the twenty-second update for the game’s community on Steam, and in the section focused on the actors behind the voices of the RPG video game, a familiar voice from high fantasy fans has just happened to be found. Doug Cockle, known for voicing Geralt of Rivia in The Witcher 3, was introduced as the voice actor for an unknown character in Baldur’s Gate 3.

The same joke persisted in popping up in internet comments after the Baldur’s Gate community was discovered. “What now, you piece of filth?” said several comments on the Reddit post that echoed the iconic phrase from The Witcher 3 game itself when the protagonist fearlessly enters combat scenes with terrible monsters countless times.

“Damn, you ugly” was another line repeated by fans to Doug, returning the favor after hearing it come out of Geralt’s mouth so much in his medieval adventures. The quotes are contextualized in scenes where Geralt is about to face danger, which can be interpreted as the fans’ resentment for the actor’s change of franchise or as an innocent joke.

“Winds Howling” and “Lol perfect, I planned to name my first character Dandelion, and he’s a bard” are other comments highlighted on Reddit. For non-interacted readers or exclusive fans of the Netflix TV series, “Winds Howling” is another more contemplative phase in The Witcher’s 3 and Dandelion is an alter-ego of sorts for the bard Jaskier in CD Projekt Red releases.
