Creator Dave Filoni tapped Dee Bradley Baker to return to the franchise when he began working on the spinoff series Star Wars: The Bad Batch. Bradley Baker voiced all five of the members of the leading Clone Force 99, as well as other roles. When asked by Looper about his favorite members of the group in the series, Dee Bradley Baker said,
“Season 2 changes it for me. Before [with Season 1], I had a lot of fun being Wrecker because I like his personality, and he’s far from me in so many ways. But for Season 2, with how it plays out, Crosshair is, I find, a fascinating character and a really interesting story…Crosshair’s the guy right now for me this season.”
Dee Bradley Baker mentioned that he liked playing Wrecker first as he was fun to play with and described how he thought of the character as a kid. However, the actor mentioned that he saw Crosshair as a coiled snake, who was waiting to pick his opponent off (via EW).

Voice actor Dee Bradley Baker, who performs all the five members of Clone Force 99 in Star Wars: The Bad Batch cited Crosshair as his favorite character in season 2 due to his fascinating characteristics and story. The sniper of the clone team, Crosshair has been loyal to the Empire for the longest time and is known for his disdain towards ‘regular clones’.
Though a member of the Bad Batch, a group of genetically mutated clones, Crosshair remains behind to serve the Galactic Empire after the group rebels against it and defects. His inhibitor chip is also augmented to make him more subservient to the Empire. He joins an elite squad that combats Empire insurgents and crosses swords with the Bad Batch multiple times.
Over time, Crosshair becomes disillusioned by the Empire as they destroy his home planet of Kamino and mistreat a fellow clone Mayday, who was injured. Crosshair defects from the Empire, which leads him to be imprisoned for treason. He is also experimented on at the facility at Mount Tantiss, which causes tremors in his right hand, leading to him losing his sniper skills (via Star Wars).
