Ever since Starfield‘s release, players have repeatedly brought up issues that have been bothering them since launch. Typically, this entails better facial animations, bug fixes, and other QoL changes.
However, one player has brought up a fairly unique ask for the game that requires a collaborative effort from the community. From what it looks like, a lot of people are looking forward to a feature like this.
Starfield Is Missing a Significant Visual Feature

Starfield, Fallout 4, and Skyrim are entirely different games with different themes. But there’s one thing that the latter of the two share in common that the first one doesn’t—the gore.
In both of those games, you can dismember and brutally kill your opponents, and there’s no lack of blood splattering around to mistake it. While this may not have been a priority ask for players of Bethesda’s open-world space RPG at first, it’s an issue that’s coming up now.
PLEASE BRING GORE & DISMEMBERMENT TO STARTFIELD!

In a recent Reddit post, a player pleads with mod makers to add gore and dismemberment to the game.
They explain that they stopped playing the game because of the lack of gore and hit collision detection, and would like to see something akin to the fourth Fallout game.
The game feels like it’s made for 8-year-olds with the ridiculous absence of even the slightest collision detection when enemies are shot, burned, or literally exploded, let alone gore and dismemberment!
As the Mod Creation Engine is out, they’ve been scouring the internet in hopes someone would add it, but to no avail. OP is even ready to offer monetary compensation to any developer who would take up the task.
OP’s Request Might Never Manifest Into Reality

As cool as it would be to see gore and dismemberment in zero-G combat, OP’s request might just be a pipe dream and nothing more. There’s a very good reason for that, as one reply explains.

For a visual mod like this, you’d need to build on top of pre-existing code and assets.
There’s no gore or dismemberment in the game, so building that from scratch would result in a very janky and buggy experience as if the game doesn’t have enough of these moments.

That being said, there’s no shortage of people who completely agree with OP’s complaints. Some mention how even just some details would add a lot more to the feel of the game.

With so many people accusing it of being ‘too kid-friendly,’ this might be an opportunity for Bethesda to hop in and prove them all wrong.
If it wanted to, the studio could add such a mod through Creations or to the base game with a toggle.
