Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth is getting blasted by Xbox fanboys because the internet didn’t give the same treatment Starfield had on launch. Bethesda Game Studios’ latest IP was an ambitious and risky venture, Starfield was announced back in 2018 and the community has kept their eye on the project since.

The promise of being able to travel to different planets and top-tier combat were all delivered with only a capped 30 frames-per-second caveat. For some this was quite a big deal, players want the best experience possible especially in a title that is focused on combat and exploration.

Square Enix opted to give their players two options: Graphics Mode which will favor a higher resolution that can output 4K or near it but with only 30 fps, and Performance Mode which is the other way around by having 60 fps with a modest 1080p resolution. Trading off one for the other could impact the way people play games.

It was only a matter of time before the fragile peace between Xbox fanboys and PlayStation loyalists broke, both parties are back at throwing insults over their favorite hardware which is petty.

In the post above, X user PeterOvo created a meme that implies how critical PlayStation users were when Starfield only had a locked 30 frames per second on the Xbox Series X and probably a weaker and less stunning performance on the Series S. Partly, the Xbox Series X was promised to be the most powerful console to date yet it can’t run more than 30 frames for their own triple-A exclusive. Director Todd Howard shared the difficulties they encountered while developing the game and stated it was for the best and to ensure a smoother performance over a disaster.

Valid points were made and if they had tried to push for more than 30, the game could have been torn apart by critics and fans, Bethesda wanted to offer the best experience possible and handled the problem accordingly.

Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth’s Graphics And Performance Are Both Great, But Not Equally Important

Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth's Graphics Mode isn't even that bad.

The intense combat and quick decision moments in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth will require a smoother frame rate, Performance Mode is the way to go. Trading a few pixels and getting a lower but decent resolution is a fair and worthy trade-off for more frames that will benefit players in a combat scenario.

An X user named Alucard reposted the footage from JayRock, a known Xbox supporter for the low attention to detail in the video above. Perhaps he intended to poke fun or humiliate the developers, either way, it was petty and uncalled for.

Players will ultimately decide which mode of gameplay will suit them best and if they want to change it up every once in a while, they can in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth.

Xbox should enjoy Starfield for what it is and let PlayStation champion the options Square Enix provided for Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth. What is your opinion about this futile argument? Share your thoughts below!
