FromSoftware’s crown as the hardest game producer might soon be getting contested as players have finally begun to speak about the absurd difficulty established in Shift up’s Stellar Blade after a player reaches a certain milestone.

Starting a new game file after you have completed the title for the first time, also called NG+, often makes all the enemies a bit harder than before to cope with the already advanced player. However, things start to get a bit out of hand if the player decides to opt for the hard mode while choosing the NG difficulty in the PlayStation-exclusive title.

How Stellar Blade Is Proving to Be a Harder Shell to Crack Than Elden Ring

The very first major boss that the player comes across when he starts his playthrough is the Abaddon, which a player can get through fairly quickly, but not when they are playing on their NG+ file with the hard mode turned on.

It remains a general rule of thumb for gamers to expect the difficulty to get harder as they continue the cycle of finishing a game and starting it again. Unfortunately, Stellar Blade has proved to be a nightmare in that aspect thus far and has even got its players commenting that the aforementioned boss is harder than Malenia in Elden Ring.

At the end of the day, Shift Up needs to realize that they might have got their formula a bit wrong, bearing in mind how a tutorial boss in their game is getting compared to the hardest one in Hidetaka Miyazaki’s latest release, a director who has been known to take pleasure in creating games that induce pain.

Why Elden Ring’s Legacy as One of the Hardest Games Remains Unmatched

When it comes to an increased level of difficulty, games released by FromSoftware are matched by none other. This is proven true by not only their latest dark fantasy title but also previous franchises such as the Dark Souls trilogy and Bloodborne.

However, it was Elden Ring that managed to reach heights never seen before by the studio, becoming Miyazaki’s best-selling game ever and earning its position at the top being a difficult game in its own right.

Additionally, the terrors of dying to the hardest bosses ever seen are not ending anytime soon, as the recently released Shadow of the Erdtree DLC brings with itself even tougher enemies, driving thousands of unique character builds useless.

Do you believe Stellar Blade is nowhere near the level of FromSoftware yet? Make sure to let us know about it in the comments below!
