An actor’s face is their most invaluable asset as it is the most recognizable aspect of their skills. However, one of actor Pedro Pascal’s most memorable roles remains the titular character in the Disney Plus series The Mandalorian. The actor spends most of the show covering his face with a Mandalorian helmet in the Star Wars-based series.

The series sees Pascal play the role of an intergalactic bounty hunter who is tasked with protecting the child Grogu a.k.a Baby Yoda as the Imperial Forces try to find it. The series has been running since 2019 and a fourth season is currently in development. The Jon Favreau-created series has received positive responses from audiences and critics.

Actor Steven Yeun, who is known for his appearances in Beef, Burning, and Minari recently sat down with Pedro Pascal on Variety’s Actors on Actors interview. In the show, Yeun appreciated Pascal’s bravery in choosing a role where he spent most of his runtime with his face covered. He said,

“I don’t see judgment in your performance. I see real love. When I think of The Mandalorian, people could get trapped by that role. Who among us is brave enough and also…selfless enough to go ‘I’m going to enter this character that might not have my face be seen’ and still land it in a way that it doesn’t trap you.”

The show has received nominations for Most Outstanding Drama Series twice at the Primetime Emmy Awards and has also been nominated for a Golden Globe.
