It is the season of awards y’all. The Industry is gearing up for a long run of events, a run that will end with the Academy Awards in the month of March. But that’s still a far way off. We still have the run-up to the climax to look forward to.
The next stage in this calendar is the Screen Actors Guild Award. SAG might have been in the news this year for the iconic protest they waged. But the upcoming SAG Awards give us the perfect chance to leave all that behind us. And the nominations have given fans more to be pumped about. But the most pumped are the star cast of Succession.
The nominations for the Screen Actors Guild Awards are out
SAG Awards are one of the most sought-after awards in the industry, partly down to the overlap between members of the Screen Actors Guild and the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences. It is no fluke that they are expected to provide an idea of how the Oscars will shape up. And the nominations for the Screen Actors Guild award are out for the world to see.
Many expected Barbenheimer to sweep the SAG Award nominations. And they didn’t disappoint. Both blockbusters have earned a staggering figure of 4 nominations apiece, the highest for any movie this term. But they’re still behind one show.

Succession makes a clean sweep
The finale of Succession has earned its place at the pole of the Awards for securing the highest number of nominations this term. And what’s more baffling is that three of them have come in the same category.

That is quite the statement from an ensemble consisting of Brian Cox, Kieran Culkin, Sarah Snook, and Matthew Macfayden. Indeed a befitting farewell to the drama series.
The other big names nominated for SAG Awards
To add some cheers for the Succession fans, Sarah Snook will be in the running for Best Female Actor in a Drama Series. The HBO series might have stolen the show. That doesn’t mean other series were left far behind. Pedro Pascal starrer The Last of Us, Ted Lasso, and The Bear were other star performers, garnering four nominations each.
Barbie and Oppenheimer lead the list when it comes to movies, with 4 nominations each. As expected, Cillian Murphy is in the running for the role of Best Actor in a Leading Role, while Margot Robbie is vying for the award of Best Female Actor.
