One of the most monumentally performed shows of all time, HBO’s Succession seems to have exceeded all bounds and expectations from viewers, critics, and fans. After its massive performance on the screens through its 39 episodes spread across four seasons, the comedy-drama then went on to dominate in multiple award shows as well, garnering some of the most nominations and wins by a TV series ever of all time.

And now, the Kieran Culkin starrer has acquired some inevitably tremendous success in auctions as well, as some of the props from the series get sold at unbelievably high prices, including some of the cheapest props and costumes sported by Roman Roy in the show.

Following the end of the blockbuster series, more than 200 props from Succession made their way into the auction held by Heritage Auctions on Saturday. And some of these props and costumes were sold off at surprisingly gigantic prices, as The Guardian shared.

First off is the blue T-shirt that Kieran Culkin‘s character Roman Roy wore in Barbados in the show. Although brought at $13 from the children’s section at Walmart, it went on to fetch a whopping $1,850 at the auction by getting sold with a pair of pink shorts.

Yet, that isn’t even the best price; the highest bid was placed on something totally unexpected: Culkin’s cue cards that he used at his onscreen father’s funeral while delivering his eulogy (that was eventually left undelivered as Roman Roy broke down too much to continue, at that).

For the cue cards, which were basically four pink index cards with handwritten bullet point notes scribbled on three of them and one of them entirely blank, the highest bid was placed at $25,000 by the buyer, and gracefully sold at that price as well.

While just these two props grossed a stunning $26,850 in total out of all the 200 props, the auction was far from over as multiple other props tried their hand at the prop and costume auction and won much bigger than expected.

Other Massive Prop Wins By Succession At The Auction

Adding to those two jaw-droppingly high-bidding props from Succession is the Burberry bag that Cousin Greg’s date sports in the fourth and final season of the series, and which Matthew Macfadyen‘s Tom Wambsgans famously mocked as being “ludicrously capacious.”

Well, news for Macfadyen’s Wambsgans, for the bag fetched a ludicrous US $18,750 at the auction.

Then there was the scorpion paperweight that Wambsgans presents as a gift to his wife and Sarah Snook‘s onscreen character, Siobhan “Shiv” Roy, which brought in ten whopping thousand dollars as the highest bid; and Wambsgans’ Waystar Royco ID, which gold sold for $6,875.

Surprisingly, the fake sausages that were used in Brian Cox‘s Logan Roy’s “Boar on the Floor” hazing game were sold at an incredibly high price as well: $5,250, for real.

Nicholas Braun‘s Cousin Greg played big as well with his dog mascot suit, bringing in $7,812.50. Jeremy Strong‘s Kendall Roy didn’t sit back either as his Waystar Royco plastic ID badge fetched $6,250 at the auction.

Yet even these weren’t all, with multiple other popular lots from the Roys and others getting sold at massively high prices as well, bringing in a total of $627,825 just from the auction sales. These would notably be distributed between HBO and Heritage Auctions.

All in all, judging from the immense 290 nods for multiple accolades (which includes 75 Primetime Emmys and Creative Arts Emmys), out of which 143 were won, and then its huge success at the auction, Succession has succeeded in setting the bar fairly high in the TV shows field!
