Mortal Kombat 1 may not have the same level of hype as it did a few months ago, as it keeps on losing players with peaks of barely 1,000 gamers, but one thing that will keep its relevance alive for a while longer is its collaborative nature. NetherRealm Studios’ latest Mortal Kombat installment continues the tradition of the series collaborating with other pop culture franchises, which is an aspect that makes it stand out from the rest of the games in the fighting genre.

From The Boys‘ Homelander to Invincible‘s Omni-Man, it has had a fair share of brutal guest characters, but none of them are as unapologetically hilarious as the one and only Peacemaker.

Cena’s Peacemaker Perfectly Fits Into the World of Mortal Kombat 1

NetherRealm shared the Official Peacemaker Gameplay Trailer an hour ago, featuring the character’s debut in Mortal Kombat 1 in all its glory, as the footage kicks off with the iconic main theme from the hit HBO Max TV series. Fans will instantly recognize the familiar guitar riff, along with Cena reprising his role and owning the video game medium as well.

The very first interaction he has is with Liu Kang, who tells the DC guest that “this is no time to smile,” but of course, the response is just as witty as one might expect from someone like everyone’s favourite peace lover.

Cena’s character replies, “Hell yeah, it is,” stating that fighting a Fire God can finally be checked off his “bucket list.” Adding his own amusing flavor to the world of Mortal Kombat, it seems like the character’s core personality that made him so popular in the first place will be faithfully adapted into his gaming counterpart. That is definitely clear when he says “suck on that” and starts pretending to play a guitar solo even when faced with deadly circumstances.

When Is Peacemaker Coming to MK1?

Peacemaker will make his MK1 debut on February 28 for Early Access players, and March 6 for everyone else.

Early Access players will get to play as Peacemaker by the end of this month on February 28, while everyone else will have to wait a week longer as the Full Release comes on March 6. After the DC character’s arrival in the game, NetherRealm is also bringing Janet Cage into the Mortal Kombat 1 Kameo roster sometime next month.

It is important to note that Cena’s character is only included in the Premium Edition of the latest Mortal Kombat title, but for those who just have the Standard Edition, they can purchase the Kombat Pack to get the peace-loving maniac.

The new gameplay trailer shows the character using guns and bringing out his iconic eagle into the battles, along with other special attacks like the Sonic Boom and Torpedo. Absolutely devouring the Fire God with the DC character’s shield just looks oddly satisfying.
