Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League saw Harley Quinn in a protagonist role in the Arkhamverse for the first time. Save being a playable character for a little bit in Batman: Arkham Knight, fans never got to play with Harley much. However, if the reactions to the gameplay of Suicide Squad are any indication, Harley Quinn is more than ready to become a new Arkhamverse, at least in a spin-off.

Harley Quinn has played a major role in the Arkhamverse. She started off being a sidekick to Joker, but took on his mantle after his death and pledged allegiance to the other kingpins of Gotham underworld. But with the introduction of Suicide Squad in the Arkhamverse, Harley Quinn can become a pivotal character for Rocksteady.

With her character arc in the universe, it will not be surprising if Rocksteady decide to launch a spin-off centering around Harley Quinn’s journey.

Harley Quinn’s Journey Through the Arkhamverse

Harley Quinn, Suicide squad

Harley Quinn was introduced in Batman: Arkham Asylum. She was once a psychiatrist at the asylum before she got seduced by the Joker and dropped her original name, Harleen Quinzel, for her villain moniker.

In the next game, Batman: Arkham City, players get a taste of Harley Quinn as one of the villains. She shows her ruthless side as she kidnaps Poison Ivy in a bid to get her to create a plant monster. She is, however, defeated by the Batman.

Batman: Arkham Origins the prequel to Arkham Asylum shows a less violent and more naive side of Harley. She is different than the violent character that she is portrayed as in the later games.

Batman: Arkham Knight shows Harley Quinn as an antagonist-turned-ally as she forms an uneasy alliance with Batman to defeat the Scarecrow. She is also a playable character in the game as fans get to utilize her acrobatic fighting skills.

However, Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League was Harley Quinn’s biggest moment in the Arkhamverse. Being one of the four protagonists in the game, she gets to carry out her revenge on Batman, albeit not in a manner she had ever dreamt of. And more importantly, she did not plan on the revenge, but she had to, as we can see her appreciating what Batman stood for in a cutscene later.

Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League Shows Harley Quinn’s Potential

Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League

Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League has been covered in controversy ever since its release. However, one thing is certain. The issues with the game are not related to the gameplay, the game mechanics, or the characters. It is more about the way the developers went about with the fan-favorite characters.

But keeping the controversy aside, the game does a lot of justice to the character of Harley Quinn. With her chaotic combat style, fans are having a blast playing with her in Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League.

The popularity of the game has much to do with the insane expectations that fans have set around Rocksteady’s games. While the storyline and the character arcs have faced heavy discontent amongst fans, the game in itself in terms of gameplay has garnered a massive response.

With new DLCs announced, fans can only hope for better things to come. However, the developers would do well to placate the fans regarding the way their favorite characters have been treated in the game. But, considering the huge response received from the gaming community, the developers can easily venture into a Harley Quinn spin-off project.

I travel. I game. I write. In no strict order.

The single biggest lie told all around is, "It isn't that simple." It is simple, everything is. And that is what I emulate in my writing. No unnecessary jargons and no flamboyant flourish. Just what's needed to get your imagination going. After all mind has no limit, unlike the written word.
