Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League launched amidst outrage regarding the technical issues and glitches that kept players from accessing the game even after paying a premium for early access. Soon after, upon discovering that the fan-favorite franchise icon Arkham Batman dies in-game, fans erupted at the perceived lack of respect that the developers showed to the character.

Despite widespread discontent and player unrest, Suicide Squad‘s intriguing gameplay mechanics, top-notch graphics, and riveting storyline have ensured that the game is a box-office success.

However, the extensive tutorials and frequent mechanics reminders are not enough, as quite a few details slip through the cracks. So we have taken the liberty of coming up with 5 important things that every player should know before they have a crack at Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League.

1. Character Levelling up Key in Single-Player Mode

While playing a single-player campaign, Suicide Squad doesn’t allow players to freely switch between characters while all of them level up simultaneously. The more you use a character, the higher their XP gain which will lead them to level up faster.

With auto-equip on, the bots controlling your other characters will deal adequate damage. However, without properly leveling up the characters, players won’t be able to unlock all the Talents from the Talent Tree. One has to keep in mind that these Talents can effectively turn the tide of a battle.

The key is to do the missions where certain characters will get ‘psyched up’ leading to bonus damage and XP gained.

2. Keep an Eye on Combat Flair Challenges

During most main and side missions, a list of optional challenges will be available. These can be accessed from the small blue box at the corner of the screen. These challenges will task you with completing some flair moves. Once all of these are complete, players will be granted full shield, full health, and 10 combo points instantly.

If you find yourself in a tricky situation, complete the Combat Flair challenges to get a second wind to push through the missions.

3. Know Your Weapons and Enemies

Some weapons deal enhanced damage to one type of enemy while dealing virtually no damage to the other type. So, while going into battle, it is essential to keep track of who you are fighting and with whom to avoid rolling up with a useless weapon.

The broad classification of enemies is Grunts and Brutes. Additionally, there are several types of enemies in each typecast. Grunts consist of Terminauts, Scavengers, and Snipers. Brutes are made up of Bombers and Destroyers along with Corrupted Choppers and Corrupted Tanks.

4. Read the Fine Prints of Afflictions

Poison Ivy

Poison Ivy’s Support Squad missions help players unlock various Afflictions. However, one needs to be careful while equipping these as each Affliction is a double-edged sword.

  • Deep Freeze grants 200% firearm damage but completely nullifies critical hits and significantly decreases melee damage. Moreover, airborne enemies will drop to the ground instantly on using this affliction and receive 1000% damage.
  • Venom Frenzy will make your enemies crazed and attach the nearest unit while getting a significant health boost. So make sure to use Venom Frenzy when the enemy is far off.
  • Diablo Blaze will deal overtime damage to enemies set on fire. But players will be unable to Shield Harvest those enemies, meaning you can’t use them for a quick health refill.
  • Livewire Bolt will grant critical strikes against enemies but grant them significantly higher damage output making it a high-risk vs. high-reward Affliction.

5. Get to Know the Rarities

Like all games, Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League has its own set of item rarities. The green items are Uncommon, blue Rare, purple Epic, yellow Legendary, pink Notorious, and red Infamous.

Uncommon items usually have 1 Added effect while Rare items have 1-2 Augmented effects. Epic items give 1-3 Augmented effects while Legendary items guarantee 2-3 Augmented effects plus 1 Legendary effect.

Notorious items are super-villain themed and give 2-3 Augmented effects and a guaranteed Notorious effect which are largely much better than Legendary effects. Infamous items are themed after notable heroes and villains and grant 2-3 Augmented effects along with set bonuses that stack as more items of a set are equipped.

While Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League allows players to freely switch between characters, they need to keep in mind to level up the whole squad and equip them all with proper items and weapon classes to maintain their effectiveness, especially in single-player campaigns.

I travel. I game. I write. In no strict order.

The single biggest lie told all around is, "It isn't that simple." It is simple, everything is. And that is what I emulate in my writing. No unnecessary jargons and no flamboyant flourish. Just what's needed to get your imagination going. After all mind has no limit, unlike the written word.
