After Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League‘s official release at the beginning of February, there will only be the base game that players will be able to access. However, not long after the game’s release, players will begin to gain access to the free DLC that will be periodically released.

Throughout these seasons, players will gain access to brand new locations, two episodes that will tell the story of the season, and even a new playable character that will be themed to the location and seasonal story that is released.

What makes these new seasons unique is the fact that they will, in a sense, continue on from the ending of the original game, as Brainiac will create what will be known as ‘elseworlds’ or, more commonly, a multiverse.

To do this, he will use genetic samples from all sorts of heroes and villains to attempt to create a new universe that suits his needs. This creates the opportunity for Rocksteady to bring in all sorts of characters and scenarios from all corners of the DC Universe while also being able to bring back the dead.

During the insider video from Rocksteady, players received a short glimpse at an upcoming character that will be released during the first season of KtJL. This first DLC character will be the Joker, as he makes his return to the Arkhamverse.

To be clear, this isn’t the Joker that we all know from the Arkham games; this is a new version of the Joker, who is a lot younger and only just starting out on his villainous journey. This version of the Joker comes from one of the ‘elseworlds‘ in which he becomes a part of the Suicide Squad.

Even though he is a part of the SS in his own universe, he is still a rather crazy character and does things on impulse rather than thinking things through. However, he has worked as part of a team and is aware that he is from another world, and his squad is now gone.

This causes him to join our squad and become a playable character with his own traversal mechanic of a rocket-propelled umbrella that he can surf on. The Joker isn’t the only new character we will receive throughout the free DLC updates that will be coming in the future, but for now, it has only been teased that they could be characters we have seen and some we haven’t.

What do you think about the Joker and the free DLC that will be coming to Kill the Justice League sometime in the near future? Are you looking forward to playing as the Clown Prince of Crime himself? Let us know in the comments!
