Based on a new look at Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League from a recent trailer, the gaming community is expecting it to be one of the first games to fail miserably this year. With reviews pouring in from early access gameplay, there has been no improvement in overall ratings so far.
The developers, Rocksteady Studios, previously worked on the Batman: Arkham trilogy, which was a massive hit, so gamers are still holding onto their hopes. A post from a popular leaker has now surfaced that is giving fans renewed hope, even though it should be taken with a huge grain of salt.
Leaker Suggests Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League Gets Better With Time
Popular leaker, Miller Ross, has been posting on X about the upcoming Suicide Squad game and responding to questions about the title. When one of his followers asked about whether the game’s DLC will be affected by all the negative reviews, Ross mentioned it could, but only if the game does a lot worse than expected.
Another user asked if the game would ever get better in later seasons, and Ross responded by stressing on Season 3. He went mentioned that Season 3 wouldn’t be out before Halloween or Black Friday, but that it would be based out of Gotham and bring a lot of Arkham nostalgia. Ross explained that it would be a “big moment for the game, post-launch“.
The following Season 4 was also revealed to be including Deathstroke. As with every leak that surfaces about games, this should be taken with a grain of salt.
Rocksteady Studios had addressed earlier leaks in a post on X, stating just how disappointed the team was to see details revealed before the game was released. Ross’ leaks have now given fans even more details about future DLCs taking the story further.
If that is the case, and the story doesn’t release all at once, fans can take heart knowing the game might not be a disaster, even if it launches to a flurry of negative reviews at first.
Another Live-Service Game in Trouble
One of the responses to his posts on X mentioned how another live-service game faced a similar situation to several recent titles. Ross responded saying “It’s hard out there for live service games.” He went on to state that it would be a lot cheaper to maintain and develop the game compared to another live-service title that didn’t do well, Marvel’s Avengers.
Marvel’s Avengers was released almost three years back, and by September last year, the game went offline with support for online multiplayer ending after the live-service title was deemed a failure.
While Rocksteady Studios did a brilliant job with the Arkham series and ended on a strong note, it looks like it will not be smooth sailing for Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League, which set in the same universe. For now, Ross’ leaks will keep fans hopeful that the upcoming Suicide Squad game will get better with time.
