It has only been a few weeks since Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League was released, but even with its first set of seasonal content finally releasing, it is still struggling to maintain a player base, even with the inclusion of the new character, the Elseworld Joker.

What makes this even more interesting is the fact that a teaser trailer has recently been released regarding the next Joker film known as Joker: Folie à Deux, which gives us another fantastic view of what the character of the Joker is all about. If only Rocksteady received the memo before releasing the character.

Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League’s Joker Could Have Looked More Towards a Traditional Character Like Todd Phillips’ Version

Rocksteady's Joker has a lot to learn from Todd Philipps' Joker.

Even though the movie Joker was very well received, it ultimately changed our perceptions of the Joker character in more ways than one. Unfortunately, Rocksteady didn’t learn from this incredible alteration to the Joker character, as they continued to stick to a more chaotic and unhinged version of the Joker rather than a man with no plan.

One of the main complaints people have about the Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League version of the Joker is the fact that he is nothing like any Joker we have ever seen before, which is usually a good thing, but this version sadly takes the character in a completely different direction that is both unfunny and stale all at the same time.

That being said, Joaqian Phoenix’s version of the Joker isn’t massively funny either, but his version of the character leans more into the psychotic chaos from his mental illness that we know and love from the Joker, as we never know what he will do due to his mental disabilities in any given situation.

Sadly, Rocksteady went for a more sarcastic and jokey version of the Joker than the chaotic version we know and love. Unfortunately, until we see more of a story regarding this version of the Joker, we do not know if he will change to become a character we know and love or stay as someone we would never describe as the Joker.

Rocksteady is Struggling to Keep Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League Alive, and This Joker Isn’t Helping

Everyone who has played the Arkham series from Rocksteady knows that these developers are fantastic at telling a story that no one sees coming and creating characters that blend well in the universe they are set in.

One of the most popular characters from the Arkham series was, of course, the Joker, and seeing how Rocksteady has gone from one version of the character to another is something that has let a lot of fans down.

At the moment, we are stuck with the Joker that Rocksteady has brought into the game, but if they were to take a page out of Todd Phillips’ book regarding the character, we could see a complete change in the character that could become what we all wanted from the very start.

What do you think about Rocksteady’s version of The Joker? Are you looking forward to the new Joker: Folie à Deux film? Let us know in the comments what you think!
