WB Games makes two very criticized DC Comics games after selling millions of copies of Hogwarts Legacy. Fans have been infuriated by the representation of these characters in games like Gotham Knights and Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League.

This Rocksteady title did not even make it to the reviewers because the studio was aware that the score would add even more bad press to the already hated title. Aside from the lack of sales and the bad reputation, the studio is betting on more content for the game in the upcoming months, with new story missions that could change it all.

Several changes in the story are coming to Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League

WB Games really needs a win with DC Comics games; the two latest superhero universe titles disappointed fans. After more than eight years, this was the next Rocksteady Games title. After almost a perfect trilogy with the Batman Arkham series, player hype was in the clouds.

Unfortunately, the game didn’t deliver what fans wanted, and this translated to poor sales of the title. The looter-shooter aspect of the game really makes players step aside.

However, WB Games and Rocksteady Games are not willing to give up easily, and they have prepared a significant amount of post-launch content for Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League. Season 1 of the game is live. The studio has already confirmed the release of at least four more seasons. In this first season, the new playable character is The Joker, with a very younger version of the villain coming from an Elseworld, a parallel universe.

Journalist and insider Miller Ross posted on X that several sources have contacted him regarding the game and talking about future content. According to Ross, the upcoming seasons will make heroes like The Flash and Green Lantern join ARGUS to destroy the Brainiac forces.

Some of these heroes will be from Elseworld of different kinds; for example, the new Batman will be ‘rescued’ from a Medieval Elseworld, and more reports dropped stating that there’s the possibility the versions of the heroes we encountered in the base game were little more than Brainiac clones – that’d be a terrible decision if so, essentially making the entire game meaningless in the process.

Will these changes save the game?

Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League will have at least five seasons of content.

Rocksteady really wants to recover from this bad launch, and it seems that they will sacrifice the story if it is necessary to make players buy the game. If Ross is talking about how it will all end up in a possible season 5, the entire story of Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League will be completely different from what it is now.

The main plot and characters will be there, but it will be a whole new story and title, and even the new playable characters will change the mechanics.

After the success of Mortal Kombat 1 and Hogwarts Legacy, the other titles distributed and developed by WB Games were not so popular, especially in the DC Comics area. The next title in this universe will be Wonder Woman.

The team behind Shadow of Mordor will be making this single-player experience. Monolith said that this game about Diana Prince will be very similar to titles like God of War. This game was announced back in 2021.

I'm a big fan of movies and videogames in general. I really love Pokémon and Godzilla. One of my favorite games is The Last of Us, Part II. A compelling and well-written story is always welcome.
