Several fan-favorite DC villains and heroes are all set to be featured in the game. With the more recent leaks surrounding the title, the return of a certain villain from the franchise has rattled the fanbase. The post below might contain spoilers for the game, so proceed at your discretion and also take the leaks with a grain of salt as always.

The Joker’s Return in Suicide Squad Was Not Expected

Voiced by Mark Hamill, the character of Joker from the Batman games remains iconic.

The Joker was one of the most iconic characters in the Batman series and was one of the fan-favorite villains in the entire franchise. Mark Hamill gave a stellar performance voicing the character, and while the Joker died at the end of Arkham City, the character was revived as a hallucination only seen and heard by Batman in the Arkham Knight.

The Joker was a hallucination in Batman’s mind in Arkham Knight and was last seen after Batman gets infected by the toxin. Most fans thought that was that, but now with new leaks dropping about the upcoming game, a version of the legendary clown seems to be revived again.

The Joker’s character in the franchise was unforgettable and to spoil fans’ memory of his iconic death to bring back a twerking version of him in a new title is sure to make a lot of fans mad. Fans of the series are yet to come to grips with the return of Batman in the upcoming game, but taking to heart the fact that it will be the last performance of Kevin Conroy voicing Batman, fans are mostly looking forward to seeing Batman back.

A video making the rounds on the internet not only shows a version of the Joker in a leaked artwork, but a gif doing the rounds shows the character twerking, which is highly unusual. Several posts with the leaked content have been deleted by now, from social networking sites, but there are Reddit posts that still contain links and discussions.

While the last Batman game got called out for bringing back the fan-favorite villain, albeit in a hallucination, after the fitting farewell in the previous title, the upcoming game is about to face even more backlash from fans if the leaks end up being true.

Plot Leaks Point to the New Main Villain

It might not just be the Justice League members that the Suicide Squad faces in the game.
It might not just be the Justice League members that the Suicide Squad faces in the game.

Going by the leaked plot for the game, it’s understood the heroes are controlled by Brainiac and Amanda Waller assembles Task Force X to take down the heroes who seem to have gone rogue. Brainiac has never been introduced in a DC game before and would make for an interesting boss in the franchise. In the trailers for the game shown thus far, the superheroes can be seen as not being their true selves, with several members having turned evil.

Players will take control of the Harley Quinn, Captain Boomerang, King Shark, and others, trying to figure out why exactly the earth’s protectors are the ones hellbent on destroying everything. With the already difficult task of having to fight the powerful heroes, the potential addition of Brainiac is bound to make things a lot more interesting.

It would be even more interesting to see how the game delivers the end or continuation of each of the characters, revealing who survives and who doesn’t. Killing Batman yet again in the same universe might not go down well with fans, especially as James Gunn has recently revealed that the upcoming DC game is not intended to be the last title in the franchise.

Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League is coming out on the 2nd of February and Rocksteady Studios has already posted a message to fans on X stating its disappointment about the details from the game being leaked. The studio has urged fans not to share any of the leaked content, so as not to spoil things for others.
