We have come across a range of characters in the Dragon Ball universe, and a lot of them are underrated. Among them is one character we came across during the Cell arc, Android 16. Cell certainly was afraid of a few, and Android 16 was indeed among them.
He has been a recurring character in the video game adaptations and as the new Spike Chunsoft game closes its release date, he is going to be in there too. And fans are really happy to see the nature-loving Android being included in the game’s roster.
Dragon Ball Video Games Have Kept Him Alive Throughout the Years
The Android party is seemingly coming to the Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero party. While it may not exactly be the theme that fans were hoping for, it still brings in some elements that fans previously speculated about during a debate.
Now they are “super hyped” about Android 16, who is more of an underappreciated character than an underrated one. A conversation on social network Reddit revolved around him, despite other interesting characters revealed in a leak.

It wasn’t just Reddit; social media platform X (formerly Twitter) was rife with the conversation too. While he gave up his life during the Cell arc in a failed attempt to blast out the threat, fans love the fact that he lives on in the Spike Chunsoft game.

While underrated, Android 16 was the greatest of all time (GOAT) for one fan.

Lets just hope Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero stays peak in the eyes of fans as these revelations are made.
Despite Being an Android, He Was More Human Than Most Humans

Androids have been depicted throughout the Dragon Ball series as merciless and destroy everything that comes in their way. Android 16 was a bit different, though he too was designed by Dr. Gero as a destructive force. Many may not know but his design was based on his son, Gevo.
His love for nature is apparent when as we see him embracing the natural and simple beauties that nature provides throughout the series. It was just Goku who he intended to destroy, as he was programmed to do so. But eventually he joins the Z fighters during the Cell arc.
During Dragon Ball Z: Kakarot, we see him sharing a bond with Gohan over their love for animals. 16 believes himself to be a defective failure given that he never had the human-like qualities as Gevo. However, Gohan always thought of him the other way in the game.
While the upcoming Bandai Namco game will follow the original timeline, let’s hope we get to see a story like this in it too.
What do you think of Android 16’s depiction in the series? We would like to know your thoughts in the comments section below.
