In 2016, Henry Cavill and Amy Adams joined Parade to talk about their film, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. During the interview, Cavill stumbled upon the topic of how Superman and he have many things in common, from protecting the people he loves to do the right thing at any cost. Cavill is quite aware of the fact that in the end, he is just a human being, and he is going to mess up. However, he wanted people to know that his intentions are always pure.

“Superman and I have a lot in common. I really want to protect the people I love, and I really try to do the right thing at all times. Sometimes I’m going to mess up your life, but my intentions are to try to be as helpful as possible. I suppose that’s the reality of all relationships: Sometimes you let the person you love down, and sometimes they let you down. It’s the ‘I love you regardless’ thing that makes a relationship real.”

Truer words couldn’t have been spoken. It looks like Cavill has a lot of clarity when it comes to things like this and yes, he’s absolutely right – everything eventually comes down to your intentions!

Talking to BBC about it, he stated, “What they do is close to my heart and something that deserves close attention.” He continued to talk about the growing importance of saving the planet’s diversity. The actor even participates in the Durrell Challenge (13K runs) to raise money for the trust.

Cavill also adopted a baby fruit bat, Ben. Interestingly, the fruit bat was named Ben in honor of his Batman V Superman co-star Ben Affleck. On top of that, Cavill has a support dog named Kal, who he is totally head over heels for. The Man of Steel actor told Men’s Journal that Kal is his “best buddy” and even accompanies him to set. As if we needed more reasons to love Cavill!
