There has been some good news for Nintendo fans, as there has been a leak regarding the Switch 2 and its potential performance power. The source behind the leak about Nintendo’s new upcoming console was Tom Henderson, the owner of Insider Gaming. Considering that he was also the person who leaked the PlayStation Portal months before its announcement, the leak seems quite credible.
What Is the Leak Regarding Switch 2?
Since 2017, the Nintendo Switch has taken the world by storm by being a handheld device that can also be used to play games on the big screen and has steadily kept players engaged without a constant flow of third-party games and Nintendo exclusives that have managed to keep players attention over the past few years.

That does not seem to be the case anymore because, according to a leak by Tom Henderson, the Switch 2 could be just as powerful as the PlayStation 5 and the Xbox Series X. This could mean that anyone who doesn’t want to pay out for a PS5 or an Xbox Series X can purchase a Switch 2 and still be able to play all of the games that, in the past, would have been unavailable to Switch owners.
For a long time, Switch owners have unfortunately been left behind when it comes to new games, as the Switch was unable to handle third-party games like Diablo 4, Street Fighter 6, and Lies of P. This is good news for the Switch 2, as this could mean that these games could be playable on the Switch 2, and hopefully we won’t receive a terrible port like Mortal Kombat 1.
How Will This Leak Affect Switch 2’s Release?
So far, the Switch 2 is already a highly anticipated release, as players are eagerly awaiting its release and bringing with it some interesting Switch exclusive games. Due to this leak, we now know that the Switch 2 will be a lot more powerful than its predecessor, which leaves gamers with just one thought: how will this impact future game releases?
With the Switch 2 gaining a lot more performance power, players are wondering whether or not future games will be designed to run on the Switch 2 along with PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X, and from what Tom Henderson has posted on Twitter/X, it will most likely work out that way, as Tom Henderson has said, “We’ll see “Launching on Xbox Series X|S, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC” a heck of a lot in 12–18 months,” which hints towards future game development plans.
Currently, the only concern players have is whether this will turn out to be another Mortal Kombat 1 Nintendo port or whether games will be specifically designed to run on the Switch 2 throughout their development process. For now, we do not know how this will work out, but we do know that this is a step in the right direction for Nintendo, as it opens up a lot of new avenues for them and the future of their consoles.

At the moment, we do not know a specific release date for the Nintendo Switch 2, but with this leak from Tom Henderson, we can assume that it will release in the next few months and aim for the late months in 2024, but this is only an assumption based on the available information from these leaks.
