Sylvester Stallone’s career as an actor in Hollywood is legendary. He has appeared in more than 50 films since 1976 that have collectively grossed about $3 billion at the box office. His prominent works in Rocky and Rambo franchises have established him as an A-lister action star, the status he carried forward in the rather more recent The Expendables.

Like his friend and Escape Plan co-star, Arnold Schwarzenegger, the-76-year-old actor is also keen on being fit. He often hit the gym, pumping iron, staying fit for the movie roles, He’s still working in Hollywood as an A-lister producing several successful movies.

In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter at the actor’s “barn” at his ranch house in Hidden Hills, California he revealed so many personal details of his life.

How Does Sylvester Stallone Feel About His Age?

The reporter from the outlet asked the actor about an incident that happened on the set of Tulsa King while shooting the pilot scene where his character Dwight, sleeps with a woman and then she asks the actor’s age. Upon revealing his age, “she flees the room in horror.” 

Responding to the actor said, “I kind of felt kind of how I played it. Like, I’m almost apologizing — I’m sorry.”

“I didn’t know. It crept on me that fast. I’m the oldest guy on the show’s set. I could be some of these people’s grandfather. So [the scene] was quite flattering and also quite depressing.”

Discussing his age the Rambo actor said, “I feel very immature. I’ve always been averse to the quote “Act your age.” Or “Age gracefully.” How do you age gracefully? There’s nothing graceful about you.”

“The older I get, the more I try to embrace my inner kid. The only way I really feel my age is because I’ve had so many injuries. I’ve had five back operations, three neck fusions, both shoulders done, knees, ankles, fist — you name it. It’s been more than 25 times that I’ve been put out. So that I feel.” 

However, the actor feel really good after warming up and said that he never run out of gas.

The actor thinks that Get Carter is his most underrated film. “That was a big disappointment,”  the actor said.

The actor also thought that “Cop Land was going to do a little better.”

Further, the actor said that he was offered $34 million in 1989s, the highest in his life, but turned down Rambo III. “For real. That’s not a joke. Oh boy, what an idiot. Now I think about that and … wow,” he said. In today’s economy, the sum would be approximately $85 million.

When the reporter asked him if he ever used drugs, the Rocky actor said, “Amazingly, never.” Soon, he recalls, “I tried it once and it was no good.”

“I was doing Rocky III and had to get down to a certain weight — too thin, actually. I was drinking 20, 30 cups of coffee a day and eating tuna fish. Somebody goes, ’Try this Dexedrine.” And then I didn’t know where I was — I’m directing on a rocket ship. I’m (imitates grinding his jaw) and my tongue was stuck to the roof of my mouth. I said, “That’s it.”

The actor is known for his health-conscious lifestyle, shaping his physic in the gym, and preparing his role for films he does best.

Stallone will appear as Stakar Ogord in Marvel Studios’ Phase-5 movie Guardians of The Galaxy Vol 3. Also, he’s set to reprise his role, Barney Ross in his most anticipated The Expendables 4.

Guardians of The Galaxy Vol 3 is scheduled to release on 5 May 2023.
