Occasionally the actors hang out together and around the time of Halloween, Sylvester Stallone posted a photo of the actors curving pumpkin together. Appearing on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Stallone revealed details of how he destroyed Arnold Schwarzenegger in the pumpkin carving contest. “Well, usually, we make pot holders, but this is, you know. Yeah, this is what happens to get a little bit older,” Stallone joked.

“I’m doing a reality show and I gave him a call. I say, ‘yeah, can I come over?’ He goes, ‘Yeah, come on over. I’ll bring my donkey. You can pet it.’ ‘Come over and pet my donkey?’ Pet my donkey. Stroke my horse. I come over and there are these fuzzy things in his office. A donkey and a pony, in the office! I mean, not like, okay, with diapers. Just walking around,” Stallone said of Schwarzenegger’s weird office.

Later, Stallone said, (imitating Schwarzenegger’s accent) “You want to carve a pumpkin?” Then Schwarzenegger brought a pumpkin to carve. And some “guy bringing knives. I mean, it’s unbelievably choreographed.”

“So, we had a pumpkin carving contest and I’m glad to say that I went down, got the head off, both eyes and nose and mouth done before he got one eyeball.”

Just like that, Stallone defeated Schwarzenegger and his challenge. However, it doesn’t seem its ending anytime soon. Schwarzenegger will definitely look for his strike for his friendly revenge.

Many see the actors as best of friends but in the past, at the peak of their careers, the actors were rivals. The actors, as they believed, were pioneering a genre, engaged in fierce competition as both the actors were very competitive. “We really disliked each other immensely,” Stallone told Forbes while promoting Tusla King

“Because we were… this may sound a little vain, but I think we were pioneering a kind of genre at that time and it hasn’t been seen since really. So the competition, because it’s his nature, he is very competitive and so am I… and I just thought it actually helped, but off-screen we were still competitive and that was not a healthy thing at all, but we’ve become really good friends.”

Schwarzenegger also confessed to their past rivalry. “We would do anything to derail each other,” Schwarzenegger told Forbes. “And it was all kind of in the spirit of competition. He’s a very competitive person, so am I,” he continued. But the actors realized that there was an inherent benefit to that as the saying goes competition creates performance. However, even during their rivalry, the actors had respect for each other and respected each other’s movies.
