Rockstar Games has set the bar high for massive open-world games and the gaming community is prepared to take on what the developers have been working on for the past few years. The fans anticipated that this massive project requires a lot of work and there is always a high possibility for delays, and GTA 6 could always miss the potential release window.

The current events in the entertainment industry are far from ideal and developers are now taking a stand against using artificial intelligence in the video game industry. However, after a recent earnings call from Take-Two Interactive, the company guarantees that projects in active development are protected from any potential video game strikes despite being listed as one of the companies that are part of the strike.

Strauss Zelnick is the CEO of the parent company of Rockstar Games and was asked during the November 2023 earnings call about the potential strike hampering the progress of active projects and claimed that these games would be safe from any delay.

“I’ve been involved with labour negotiations in every entertainment industry there is in my career and they’ve always worked out just fine. In the event that they don’t work out just fine, we are completely protected.

The upcoming Grand Theft Auto sequel is a high-profile game as enthusiastic fans are stoking the flames by creating fake images made with artificial intelligence to promote the game. This abuse of AI is doing more harm than good for the developers.

It is time for game developers to stop AI being used in games. The gaming community is now waiting to see whether Zelnick can keep his word and if the game is immune from any delays because of the strike.

Fans are eager to see the next earnings call of Take-Two Interactive and are optimistic to see a new preview as soon as it is finished. Perhaps recent events will encourage the company to share something to give the gaming community hope.

Strikes are not good for business but are important to keep talent safe and preserved. Artificial intelligence is a double-edged sword that can hurt whoever wields it and inadvertently more than those on the other end of the blade.

Events like this can cause a breach of trust, if Zelnick fails to keep his word then he risks losing the favor of the gaming community and hurting the project. Fans can only hope for the best.
