Remember how Andrew Garfield deployed the best of his acting skills to fool us into believing that he was not in fact in Spider-Man: No Way Home? Well, it looks like actor Taron Egerton might be taking a page out of his book.
If there is one project fans of the Marvel Cinematic Universe are collectively looking forward to, it is Hugh Jackman and Ryan Reynolds’ Deadpool 3. They are all on the lookout for any update about the upcoming R-Rated film as the excitement goes through the roof. Now, thanks to an Insider, fans might have some updates about the film and if the report is true, Taron Egerton will finally be getting his claws out!
Is Taron Egerton in Deadpool 3?
Taron Egerton wanted to play the role of Wolverine for a long, long time. In fact, fans of the superhero universe have been rooting for the actor and his dreams of playing our favorite mutant. Unfortunately, Egerton let the world know that he was no longer interested in the role and that he was too old for it now, breaking thousands of hearts.
However, if a report by ‘The DisInsider’ is to be believed, Egerton will be playing Wolverine in the upcoming Deadpool 3. Now since Ryan Reynolds’ Deadpool will be joined by Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine, Egerton is actually rumored to be playing a variant of the character.
While there is no way of knowing if the report is 100% true or not, it would be nice to see the Kingsman actor finally have his dream come true!
Did Taron Egerton Pull an Andrew Garfield?
Back in March 2023, Egerton told Total Film that he has left his dream of playing Wolverine behind since he’s gotten too old for the role. He is only thirty-three, by the way. Adding that the ship has long sailed, Egerton said,
“Well, the one that I mentioned is up for grabs, but I’m too old for it now. I think that ship has probably sailed. Yeah, that whole Wolverine thing – I get asked about it and no matter what you say it gets turned into what people want you to say about it. I’m not going to be the guy to play Wolverine.”
Egerton also added that while he has been enjoying watching the MCU for the last fifteen years, he does not think that “they’re the right thing” for him and his career anymore.
And now, thanks to The DisInsider’s report, we are wondering if Egerton was simply pulling an Andrew Garfield, which is denying the rumors only to show up last minute. Is Egerton finally going to give his fans this massive win? Only time will tell!
