David Letterman took to Instagram to address the whole fiasco surrounding Taylor Swift‘s love life with her NFL beau, Travis Kelce. He started by praising the global pop star for having a great influence as she has the power to put on a ‘three-hour show’ and people will surely gonna show up just to listen to her.

“I don’t think in the history of show business or the history of popular culture we’ve ever witnessed anything like this. Tremendous! She fills stadiums around the world and puts on a three-hour show. We live in a world now where all we hear is nonsense and ugliness. The nonsense can’t be more nonsensical and the ugliness, God hopes it can’t get any uglier.”

The clip is originally from 2023 when she started dating the latter. The former host accidentally mixed up her boyfriend Travis Kelce with the Cheers actor, Travis Grammer but producer Barbara Gaines rectified him.

“But that’s all we hear. And now here’s Taylor Swift, who is a glowing bright light of goodness in the world, and she starts dating Travis Grammer.”

He addressed the issue NFL fans have with Swift stating,

“The [Kelce] people say, ‘Oh, no, no, no, don’t bother us. We’re all caught up in football. We don’t want Taylor and football.’”

He further touched on the hate Kelce is getting from some of the Swifties adding,

“And the Taylor Swift people, the Swifties, are saying, ‘Oh, we don’t want a footballer in here with [Kelce].’”

Giving a straightforward response to haters in general, Letterman took a direct hit stating,

“And I say to both camps, ‘This is such a lovely thing. Shut up!”

He further continued,

“It’s good for the footballers. It’s good for Taylor Swift and it’s something positive and happy for the world. And also politically, Taylor Swift is a huge force, and I think just wants to see people do the right thing. So God bless Taylor Swift and [Kelce].”

As the love birds started their dating phase, Swift was seen on several Chiefs games to support her beau, prompting major media coverage. However, the parties involved have already addressed the intense hate they are receiving over their romance.

The nine-time Pro Bowler addressed the haters as the Blank Space singer received a negative response over their relationship. However, he confirmed that they are rather focusing on their happiness regardless of the ‘outside noise.’ When asked whether they have discussed dealing with the attention they’re receiving, he stated via Fox News,

“The only thing we’ve talked about is as long as we’re happy, we can’t listen to anything that’s outside noise. That’s all that matters.”

Whereas, the Style singer talked about the same in her Time’s 2023 Person of the Year interview. She stated,

“There’s a camera, like, a half-mile away, and you don’t know where it is, and you have no idea when the-camera is putting you in the broadcast, so I don’t know if I’m being shown 17 times or once. I’m just there to support Travis. I have no awareness of if I’m being shown too much and pissing off a few dads, Brads and Chads.”

As the Chiefs proudly secured the ticket to the 2024 Super Bowl which will held on February 11 in Las Vegas, Swift will be performing in Tokyo as part of her Eras Tour on February 10.
