Ryan Gosling’s recently released film, The Fall Guy, has put Taylor Swift’s music in the 2024 movie and people are confused. With the film based on stuntmen and women who risk their lives every day for 2 minutes of action on-screen, a Taylor Swift song seems out of the blue.

But the music supervisor and producer Kelly McCormick (who’s a Swiftie) talked about the song’s importance in the film and how it plays out. Having Gosling as the sacrificial stuntman in the film who loses all, a Swift song from her album Red seems perfect.

How Ryan Gosling Cried To Taylor Swift’s Song In The Fall Guy!

Being a story about stuntmen and women, the action sequences are obviously terrific. The promotion of the film had real stuntmen breaking through a glass door while Ryan Gosling walked before them.

With a ridiculous promotion (in a good way), recent reports suggest that the film also features a song by Taylor Swift. The question to ask now would be, ‘where and why did Taylor Swift come in between stunts and action sequences?’ Well, there are plenty of emotional scenes in the film too. In a recent interview with Variety, Kelly McCormick talked about how difficult it was to put a Swift song in The Fall Guy.

“Taylor’s hard to put in a movie because she’s a storyteller. So then putting images on top of the story she’s telling when you’re listening to every single word is really hard to do.”

In the end, Swift’s iconic song All Too Well was used to depict a scene where Ryan Gosling’s character of Colt Seavers loses everything that he holds dear. As the interview further continued, music supervisor Rachel Levy talked about Swift and how she doesn’t mind her music being used in movies.

This isn’t the first time Swift’s songs have been used in a film or a TV series. The American singer has quite many of her songs featured in movies like Hannah Montana: The Movie (where she performed on stage!) and The Hunger Games.

Talking about Swift’s affinity for having her songs featured in movies, The Fall Guy music supervisor Rachel Levy talked about how the Lover singer doesn’t mind it at all!

“It happened before the tour frenzy. Taylor is a friend of sync. We haven’t had much that’s been denied by her. She likes to place her songs in movies, and there was no reason to think that it would be denied.”

With Taylor Swift’s music in the mix, Ryan Gosling and Emily Blunt’s The Fall Guy was recently released on 3 May 2024 in theaters across the U.S. The 2024 film received a rating of 7.3/10 on IMDB and a whopping 87% on Rotten Tomatoes.

The Fall Guy is currently screening in theaters around the world.
