The One Piece Live-Action has excelled in almost every aspect of creating a successful anime adaptation. The series has got the best of every world, be it editing or storyline, but the cast was the main thing it got just right. The actors who portrayed the roles of One Piece characters, especially the Straw Hat crew are one of the most important reasons why the series became such a huge success.
Iñaki Godoy as Luffy, Mackenyu as Zoro, Jacob Romero as Usopp, Taz Skylar as Sanji, and Emily Rudd as Nami were perfect in their character portrayals.
As they worked for the series’ first season, the cast developed a great bond during their time together. Their friendship was reflected recently when Skylar and Emily were attending the Weebcon 2024, and Skylar jokingly proposed to Rudd, bringing out his inner Sanji. This got the audience and the One Piece fans online excited and it also proved why Skylar is the best actor to portray Sanji.
Taz Skylar Proposes Emily Rudd to be his Anime Waifu
The One Piece live-action cast was recently seen at the Weebcon 2024 in Texas as they shared their experiences and answered a bunch of questions about the series and the characters they played. During the panel, Taz Skylar was asked by Rudd whether he had an anime “waifu” or not.
As soon as he got this question, his inner Sanji took over and he immediately got off his chair, took off his ring, bent down on one knee in front of Rudd, and asked her to be his anime waifu. This shocked the fans and even Rudd as she jumped off the chair and got confused about what she could do at the moment.
Rudd ultimately rejected Skylar and although it was a joke, it made the audience go crazy. They know what kind of bond Sanji and Nami share in the One Piece anime and manga and they got to see that between the real-life Sanji and real-life Nami.
One Piece Fans Confirm Taz Skylar is the Perfect Sanji
Skylar’s portrayal of Sanji has been spot-on since the beginning. His charming, gentlemanly, and chivalrous nature has been perfectly brought to life by Skylar. Not only that, the actor has even worked hard and trained to learn how to fight like Sanji.
The funny moment from the Weebcon 2024, where Skylar was seen proposing to Emily Rudd was shared by @op_netflix_fan on Instagram and it instantly went viral.
One Piece fans from all over the world gathered and commented their opinions about the Live-Action Sanji proposing the Live-Action Nami.
While some believed that Skylar was Sanji in real life, some talked about Rudd’s reaction and how she got so shocked that she almost ran away. Fans also pointed out that the Nami from the anime would have beaten Sanji to a pulp if he had tried something like this.
